FOR THREE GENERATIONS, we've been making foie gras and smoking salmon in Peyrehorade, in the Pays d'Orthe. The history of Maison Barthouil is intimately linked to this region of the southern Landes, at the confluence of the Pyrenean Gaves.
An independent, family-run business founded in 1929, we manufacture all our products in our workshops in Peyrehorade, in the Landes region of France. All our choices are made with taste in mind. All our salmon, whether farmed or wild, is smoked the old-fashioned way, over Aulne wood. This exclusively manual know-how gives our salmon its unique taste: a light, subtle smoke that underlines the flavors of the fish. Artisan conservators for 3 generations, we are committed to quality farming. Our production remains confidential and artisanal.
