The 4th rencontres Paul Virilio present a debate, a dance performance and a cruise around the submarine base.
THURSDAY APRIL 3, 2025
-6pm: dance performance by Olivia Grandville -CCN La Rochelle- on the oblique plane of the slipway ramp.
This choreography puts Paul Virilio's interest in dance and his work with numerous choreographers and dancers into perspective. Not the least of these are choreographers such as William Forsythe, Paul Wenninger, Merce Cunningham, Fabrice Lambert, Odile Duboc, Kitsou Dubois, Christian Rizzo... Each of these choreographers has been influenced by the written work of Virilio, who has worked with them all his life. As Paul Virilio said in an interview: "The oblique function (...) is a culture of the body that plays on imbalance, that considers that man is not static, but in movement, and that the model of man is the dancer. This artistic expression has a dual vocation: it speaks of the body's relationship with the oblique and highlights a bunker in the heart of La Rochelle's City and Maritime Museum.
