In the Chamonix valley, a young aspiring guide, outsider and ambitious, opens a climbing voice for a young woman he's in love with. Saskia is the daughter of an Everest pioneer. She's in a relationship with an arrogant guide who looks down on our hero all the more because he senses that his friend is not indifferent. By a twist of fate, our hero finds himself in possession of Saskia's father's diary, the publication of which would dismantle the statue.
