Ikue Nakagawa's creations are always inspired by her own drawings: in this case, an onion ("tamanegi"), which she drew with her sick father and the family members left behind in mind. With Tamanegi, a version of which she presents here created in situ for La Manufacture CDCN, she attempts to translate into images, movement and sound the invisible, unspeakable dynamics that govern family ties. And it's utterly fascinating.
