What's left in the theater when a performance ends? What's left in the air when a song is over? More broadly, what remains of works when they are not performed, how do they continue to act long after they have disappeared? What remains is precisely that, the contreclé: the imprint left by a sensibility on a work, acting on it to modify and renew it, even to make the author discover what he/she had not yet perceived in it. This rare term, found in an 11th-century poem by Guillaume d'Aquitaine, provides La Tierce with the material for its new work: a manifesto of a certain relationship with the world, as this company excels in drawing torrents of poetry and mystery from the most tenuous of threads.
