Conference organized by the Charente-Maritime Society of Natural Sciences.
Lecture presented by Jean-François Pépin, Laboratoire Environnement Ressources des Pertuis Charentais, Ifremer La Tremblade, as part of the Fête de la Science.
The Pertuis Charentais is a major site for shellfish farming in France. The good ecological status of coastal ecosystems is a key issue. A better characterization of the biotic environment is now possible through the use of environmental DNA to monitor biodiversity and detect non-indigenous or exotic marine species that threaten shellfish farming, among other things.
