Ciné-conférence à Beauséjour : La route 66

Route 66 crosses North America from Chicago to Los Angeles. For many people,
it's synonymous with nostalgia for the days of the Gold Rush and the conquest of the West.
In Chicago, it's born between buildings of glass and steel. In Missouri, it floats across
plains carved like an ocean. In New Mexico, it's like a scar on the skin of the desert
of the desert, land of Indians, coyotes and giant cacti. In Arizona, it is diluted in an ochre horizon
ochre horizon between a petrified forest and rocky cathedrals ablaze with a last fire.
Today, Route 66 is reinvented through the testimonies of those who are attached to it.
They show us that rusty old Cadillac and those ghost-town motels, but also the incredible works
the incredible works of art that artists have scattered across the desert.
Against a backdrop of blues, rock or country music, in a Harley Davidson
or convertible Chevy, Route 66 carries our dreams, our fantasies,
our nostalgia for an idealized America...
