Edward Bloom has had an extraordinary life, punctuated by encounters with extraordinary people on his many travels. For as long as he can remember, he has been telling incredible stories, to the point where everyone knows them by heart. So incredible, in fact, that his grown-up son Will considers them pure invention, and turns away from Edward. But as Will prepares to become a father himself and Edward nears the end of his life, the two men reunite to get to know each other and tell their versions of the story... starting with Edward's first encounter with a huge fish.
