Choreographer Anne Nguyen goes in search of what links the ancestral roots of dance, music and heritage of the Afro-American diaspora. She evokes the strong ties between Africa and America that gave rise to hip-hop culture, and brings them closer to the contemporary journey of Mark-Wilfried Kouadio, an Ivorian artist who practices both urban and traditional African dances. This solo invites us to examine our relationship with immigrant cultures, and to explore different possible agreements between tradition and modernity. Cie par Terre will be in creative residency at La Manufacture CDCN, providing an opportunity to share in a creative stage before discovering the finalized piece in February in Ambares-et-Lagrave as part of the POUCE! festival, or on March 11 in La Rochelle.
