Plage du Platin

South of La Rochelle, in the commune of Aytré, the Platin beach is a large sandy beach of 1.7 km bordered by small dunes. It extends to the town of Angoulins, between the Pointes du Roux and the Pointes du Chay. You can also enjoy the walk along the coastline, punctuated by fishing huts.

Be careful, swimming is forbidden on this beach because of pollution.

At low tide, sand yachts take advantage of the sea's withdrawal (out of season), and this beach is also popular with kite-surfing enthusiasts (but beware of the oyster beds off shore).

Some huts offer small restaurants, drinks and ice creams in season.
