Audio-signal traffic lights have been installed at certain pedestrian crossings to help those with visual impairments get about. These audio-signal traffic lights are activated via an individual remote control, which can be delivered on request and upon the presentation of proof:
- By getting in touch with the Mission Handicap (Disability Service) of the City of La Rochelle: 05 46 51 51 42
- From the Tourist Office, which has two universal remote controls available to issue.

List of establishments declared accessible (May 2018)
- WC Parking Vieux Port Sud, only on Level -1: toilets accessible only with a parking ticket. Badge your ticket to open the toilet door. Once you have your ticket, the toilets are accessible 24 hours a day.
- WC Parking Encan/Aquarium at 200 meters from the Tourist Office: 2 types of toilets accessible to PRM.
Paid guarded toilets (0,50€): open every day; schedules: from Easter to 30/09 from 10am to 6:20pm / from July 1st to August 31st from 10am to 7pm with closing to users at 6:50pm. Closed out of season.
Public toilets (sanisette), free and open all year round, to the right of the guarded toilets.
